Our nifty wee camper van, parked up at Marble Hill DOC campground.Day One of our honeymoon - yeah! It is nice to finally have time to relax after the hectic pace of the last few weeks. Today we flew from Napier to Christchurch (via Wellington), picked up the campervan, stocked up with groceries and headed west to Springs Junction and the DOC campsite at Marble Hill. Marble Hill is interesting because a concrete wall has been built on the valley floor, at right angles to the southern alps faultline so scientists could measure movement in the fault line.
The sandflies were out in force - but the beautiful surroundings more than made up for it.
